Vedic Astrology Forecast, January 4 – January 11

Updated: Feb 1, 2021

Monday, January 4, 2:25pm PST

For the next twenty days, Mercury will be in Capricorn, moving through conjunctions with Saturn and Jupiter.

Mercury is the second fastest moving planet, whipping through the zodiac at a pace only second to the Moon. What this means is, second only to the fickle and ever-changing nature of our mind and emotions (Moon), is the speed of our thought, learning, and communication (Mercury). Mercury is of raja guna inherently, with lots of energy to accomplish many things, and when he enters Capricorn, which is sattva in nature, the potential is sustainable success in new business, academia, and writing.

As a word of caution, if you are looking for indicators to affirm this fruitful time to embark toward success, the emotional indicators may be more on the mild side! This may be felt as a middling homeostasis as you go about your day, but this is the secret sauce of sattva–the middle way; as true success is measured in consistency, or sustainability. If we constantly wait for the bolt of inspiration to charge us into an unstoppable frenzy of inspired action (rajas), we will invariably fall into the slump, block, or inertia (tamas). This is a law of nature; if you take coffee, you will get a jolt of energy (raja) until you depress in energy and require rest (tamas) to restore your hormones. So simply put, for the next 3 weeks of this transit; trust in the process, it will work if you work it.

The Moon will descend into its lowest point of debilitation in Scorpio until Saturday night. This is a place where you may disregard your emotions in order to drive yourself toward material goals. There may be resources available and a tenacious attitude to outlast your competitors, internal or external, yet the emotional side that cares for softness will be less supported. As a result, emotions may arise unevenly, perhaps erratically. Until given the space to rest, recover, and listen to your body, the demands of your day may invite illness or dis-ease into your system later on this month. Your heart must be valued in the same vain as your mind. Neither is superior, and the debilitated Moon transit will convey the importance of your inner being however you approach it. My suggestion is to take a midday nap of at least 15 minutes, meditate before bed, and reach out to those in your family or inner circle simply to catch up and support each other. Sounds like a nice weekend.

Namaste!
